Filmmaking from A to Z

What does it take to make a film? In this in-depth workshop, students create a short film inspired by classic cinema. They go through the entire production process, from creating a script to editing with a professional editing software.

Filmmaking from a to z

During the workshop, students work in groups to create a short film within a chosen genre. To spark inspiration, they visit the "What is Film" exhibition and explore historical film footage from Eye's collection. What makes a slapstick comedy? How many shots are needed for an intense western scene? Together, they explore how to apply these techniques to their own film.

Get started on your own film

Guided by three professional film teachers, students go through all the steps of filmmaking in less than half a day. They develop their own scenario, film with a professional camera in and around the inspiring environment of Eye Filmmuseum, and finally edit the footage themselves using a professional editing software in the studio. The workshop concludes with a collective screening and discussion of all the films created.

It's no wonder this workshop has been the most booked for over 10 years!

Many of our film instructors are professional filmmakers themselves and share tips from their own practical experience
