Animate on Celluloid

Step into the world of creative filmmaking with our unique animation workshop! In this session, you will explore animation in a completely new way. Without cameras or computers, you'll work directly on real film strips.

Make your own animation!
Guided by two experienced film educators, students will learn how to create a unique animated film frame by frame. They'll dive into drawing, scratching, and even creating collages on 16mm film strips.

From idea to the big screen
Once the animation is complete, it will be "live" edited and immediately shown using a special projector from the Eye collection. Students will get to see the result of their creativity on the big screen!,

A lasting memory
As a special conclusion, each student will take home a piece of their film strip. In this way, they get a tangible memory of their creative process and a unique souvenir from this special experience.

What makes this workshop unique:

  • very interactive
  • film-making in an inspiring and unique way
  • encourages creative collaboration and out-of-the-box thinking
  • a one-of-a-kind experience with celluloid and the Eye collection
